Our home

is a delightful pre-civil war, two-story home with three bedrooms and three bathrooms, surrounded by an organic garden and nestled in the historic district of downtown Bastrop.

Purchased by Robert and Catine Perkins in 1959 and listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, the house features natural wooden floors, artful furnishings, lovely dining and living rooms, eclectic  library, and large airy windows. Every bedroom has a magical view overlooking the gardens and trees below. Soak in the clawfoot tub, or refresh under a waterfall shower. Sip your morning coffee or evening drink on either of the screened-in sitting porches and watch the sunrise, or relax and listen to the many birds that live and migrate through the area.

Catine was a strong proponent of historical preservation, organic gardening, and preventive medicine. You can explore her many books on herbs, history, health, and art as well enjoy the collection of antiques or revel in the authentic cookware of the fully furnished kitchen  Take in the fresh air as you meander through the garden paths or collect the eggs from the chicken coop.
Seeking adventure? The house is only a quick five-minute walk away to the town center where you can explore antique stores, live music, restaurants, and even a winery. Or simply head two blocks over and walk the trails (or kayak) along the lovely Colorado River.
We invite you to experience the peaceful charm of this unique and lovely property.
